Why we ship in six weeks, not six months

Long projects don't fail at the end — they rot in the middle. The case for tight, fixed-scope builds, and why a monthly cadence beats an open-ended retainer.

The longer a website project runs, the worse it usually gets. Scope creeps, momentum dies, the market moves — and the thing you launch answers a question your business stopped asking months ago.

What kills long projects

It’s rarely the work itself. It’s the gaps between the work:

  • Decision latency. Every week of “let me check with the team” compounds. A six-month timeline is mostly waiting, not building.
  • Scope drift. With no hard deadline, every good idea gets added — and good ideas are how projects die.
  • Lost context. By month five, nobody remembers why you made the month-one choices, so you re-litigate them.

The case for a tight five phases

We run a fixed, five-phase project that goes live in six to eight weeks: discovery, strategy, design, build, then compound. Constraints aren’t a compromise here — they’re the method:

  • A deadline forces decisions. When “later” isn’t an option, you find out what actually matters this week.
  • One round of revisions, on purpose. Infinite revisions feel safe and produce mush. One sharp round produces a point of view.
  • Designed in the browser, not slides. What you sign off is what ships — no surprise gap between the mockup and the live site.

Then: a cadence, not a retainer

Launch isn’t the finish line, but it’s also not the start of an open-ended contract. After go-live we move to a monthly cadence of growth experiments — one CRO test, one content batch, one lifecycle flow at a time — billed monthly. If a quarter passes without the work moving numbers, you stop and we shake hands. No 12-month lock-in, no annual scope dance.

Fast isn’t rushed

Six weeks works precisely because the thinking happened first. Positioning is locked before design. SEO + GEO is built into the pages, not bolted on after. Speed is the output of clarity, not the enemy of it — the slow part, deciding what you’re for, we do up front on one page. The rest is good execution against a clock.

Momentum is a feature. Ship while you still remember why.
